If what you are asking is what impact affiliate partnerships might have on your own SEO work, then you need to consider a few things.

1) How do you track the affiliate performance in terms of sales. If you track using a campaign parameter in the URL, such as ?cmp=gog then you should have a canonical tag on your landing page that specifies that any URL that lands on that page should give all value to the original URL.

If there is a relationship, I'd think that it would be reversed - if you optimize your site for search engines and get more traffic as a result, you might then get more customers for your affiliate marketing scheme.

For example, if you're a passionate gardener and you have a _really good_ gardening site with high quality original content that builds up readers that respect your opinion, and you eventually add some links to gardening books on Amazon, with, again, high quality original text describing why those books are great, some of those readers might click those links.

I can't imagine the reverse happening. People who are searching for a product are unlikely to run across your blog and start reading it.

and again if you have a website like blog2success.co.uk and you have a product your selling and people become your affiliate to promote your product there affiliate link would be blog2success.co.uk/aff so the affiliates are promoting your website/ link which could help you with your seo.
