I do only white hat SEO techniques (sometimes grey) but I never use (and will never try) blck hat SEO tools. I prefer fair play. I want to be fair with my clients.

I think you can define black hat methods as those that use cheating kinds of things, like invisible keywords, copying of other people's words, articles, or methods, etc. And Google and other places have ways of telling if you are cheating, so it's best not to. And not just because you can get caught, but because it is the right thing to do.

They call it White Hat vs. Black Hat for a reason. Just like the old Westerns, you can be a good blogger or a bad blogger. It's your choice. You don't have to worry about your sites or about getting caught for doing something wrong if you use White Hat methods.

Cool Re: White Hat SEO vs Black Hat SEO

One favorite BH trick is to load a bunch of pre-fab sites designed with Google Adsence blocks. The ones actually making the good money are the marketers selling the sites.

Adsence will be in the upper left "Hot Spot" for adds and Amazon, or some other Affiliate links are usually in the right hand column.

To make them look legitimate they will have a "Comment" script somewhere in the middle of the page and an RSS feed near the bottom. Keeps the content current. Of course it does.

Most of the content is scrapped and can be found plastered all over the net.

These sites used to be really easy to get a good spot in the SERPs but Google, and the others, have taken note and are sending them to never never land in the Internet.

I still have a couple of these type of sites myself; but they sure do look good.

I just haven't gotten around to scrapping they yet.

Point I guess. Save your money on these pre-made site templates.

good marketing

White Hat has long term results where as Black Hat can have repercussions.

Agree with Maya.

White Hat all the way. Why even bother with Black Hat. Sure you might get some short term gain but the long term will probably see you banned and black listed.

Anyhow, don't have time to even do Black Hat SEO techniques
