Question seo companies

I'm going to launch my first blog, with entertainment driven content and advertising. What do think of companies that offer to put you high on top ranking on search engines (presumably through sponsed ads) fast, without pay per click fees. Plus they'll contact all types of directories, search engines, etc. and get you hundreds of one way permanent links in short order. The fees seem reasonable. Do they perform? Is there any downside? Is King Google suspicious of this sudden expansion of exposure? Anyone had success or not with such services.

I wouldn't rely on companies that guarantee you quick success. It is possible but this success will be (if at all) only short termed.

I haven't used one of these SEO services but I wouldn't really recommend them. It seems strange to be able to promiss someone that they will be the #1 for a keyword. The problem probably is that they might even get you there. But after they are done you are gonna go back to the way it was.

Instead of spending your money paying for these companies I recommend focusing on building good content.

I would research this before spending any kind of money. Read up on SEO and how it works and see if it's worth paying for...

DIY. You're paying big bucks to others to do the work which quite often isn't permanent. You can buy your own software - if that helps - and do it yourself. It isn't rocket science - just follow the rules, the tips and I'm sure you can do it all yourself.

Sorry to sound cyncial but I don't think SEO companies are interested in you - just your business.

They sure are!

Any unatural linking pattern will set alarm bells off - and your site will be put on probation for at least 6 months

After 6 months your site may come back, maybe not

Ahh the lies. This post implies that EVERY search engine will put you on probation for 6month.

Read the search engines terms of service, follow their rules, read up on SEO and SEO Tips and DIY. I know some of the top SEO people out there and my one friend (SEO for Dummies contributor...) mentioned that most SEO companies do only the basics,.... stuff you can do yourself.

Basically, don't let SEO companies tell you that you will screw up your site if you try SEO yourself.... if they tell you that, they're not even worth talking to. An SEO company that says to give it a try and gives you a few tips.....you may want to bookmark them. The nice thing about SEO companies, is you can spend your time on other aspects of your site or business.....

Getting highly ranked with such services is worthless. There was a discussion over some forum long ago where people were discussing about paid to free SEO. Many backed up Paid but most voted for free SEO. The reason was simple - Getting free SEO will take time but the results will last for long and you will probably save money and will gain enormous knowleadge that you will not even get from any e-books or any institutes.

One thing I recommend you do is contact some of their clients if your going to be spending big money. The other thing is to read reviews from their clients if they have them.

I would try to do SEO yourself, it's really rather easy and you'll get more bang for your buck.
