Default Getting better position

I want to get better position with a phrase in search engines, but I think I'm not doing right. Can you please give tips to correct all my errors. I'll really appreciate all the tips.

link to your page using your keyword phrase, say it's "rubber duckies" post on comments with the name set as "rubber duckies" and do the same with anchor text in other links...this tells google that your site contains good info about "rubber duckies"

A link to your site in question would help.
Check the phrases with google keyword too to make sure it's worth your time, than mention the phrases in your blog post, build links to those pages.

That's a good start.

Aim for long tail keywords with lower competition, once you accomplish that then you can move on to the more competitive keywords.

A good trick is to find a phrase that contains your desired phrase - e.g. if it was "samsung digital camera" you could use "10 megapixel samsung digital camera" - then you still get a shot at ranking for your desired phrase

Right, I'm a big fan of this technique, but it makes the title even more keyword rich and hence more likely to show up for a large subset of different searches.

Also, as you have brought out before, a specific title such as 10 megapixel samsung digital camera is the type of search made by someone who is a buyer, and those are the type of people that you want to visit your blog and buy, via Amazon or some other ad service that you have.
