Getting to page 1 of google

hi guys,
i just realised that my site was ranked at age 91 for my main keyword, job vacancies in nigeria.
I want to get it up to at least the first ten! I need any tips at anyone can think of, because i am going to be applying them one by one.

Secondly, i was trying to use socialmarker.com, but i couldnt use it. I got stuck and did not know what to do.

thirdly, please what are h1 tags, and how do i use them in blogger?

fourthly, someone said something about metatag in all your pages etc. i have already done that in my edit html page of my code in blogger. do i still need to put metatags again in everypost?

Hi,

I gave you advice way back, glad to see your jobs blog is much better now, with relevant and informative post titles

h1 tags are regarded by the search engines as "THE" most important on-page content - and as such SEO's use them exclusively for their most important headline

you want your post titles to be enclosed in h1 tags - but usually your blog site title will already be using the h1 tag - so post titles have to use h2 tags - the second most important tag - so it goes on h3, h4 for lesser important content

I am curious as to how you determined you were on page 91 of google. Did you just click thru until you found it or is there some google trick to be had?

Is the page you found your blog on directly related to your Google Page Rank? If so, you might want to find ways to increase the Page Rank (PR) of your site!

Put the proper page Titles using keywords "job vacancies Nigeria" inside and then get lot of links (as highest PR sites as you can) having "job vacancies Nigeria" keywords in those link anchor texts.

I searched for my major keyword phrase: job vacancies in Nigeria. And was number 91 there

Professionals are using tools like Google Webmaster tool (free, just sign in) or Trellian SEO toolkit for example to follow up their positions.
