I think the basic idea is that if Google doesn't know your site exists they can't index it.

So efforts to get your site indexed quickly all revolve around getting hundreds of links on others sites pointing to your new site. When Google indexes those other sites it finds the links, says "Oh, there's a new site on the web," then it follows the link and starts indexing your blog.

I'm with Nathan, google just has to know your site exists. Don't get all "crazy" trying to make things happen to fast. Natural, slow, steady. 99% of the "big sites" were once small and built naturally.

i dont think google has changed that much to cause you major concern. You can still apply the basic principals and still get good search engine ranking. I personally have not seen any significant detriment in my traffic volumes.

I sometimes think its easy to hear news on the web and carry the info as an excuse for not experimenting.

I say this because you must experiment. No single approach works for your particular niche so you need to form your strategy over months based on small changes and research. Using all known strategies and even ones you think up yourself.

I never tried these methods.Usually my blog got indexed just by writing fresh post with unique content.

sounds easy enough...like I mentioned in another thread I will be starting a new blog to replace my first one, i alredy have a decent start on content...i will be trying some things out and see how soon I am on googles radar...thanks for the read

With a new site or a post? I have found my posts on google soon after posting them just by digging them...but the site I put up last night hasn't made it to google yet, I have promoted the stuffings outta it but google hasn't indexed it
