Check out this interesting search result. (attached image) I have no idea how they got stylized text onto the SERP but I'm impressed. If you manage to figure it out you have found a good way to make your page stand out big time.

Wow that's pretty abnormal I wanna know how they done that too! I notice it's from a scribd page. I wonder if G is showing a portion of the content as an image and is not purposely supposed to be there. |

I know! I'm amazed that it got through Google, because they usually strip all styling out. It might have been a bug or glitch. But if so, we might be able to use it to make our search engine results stand out. ![]() Pretty wild.

| Search Engine Result Page. It is the page of results that the search engine gives you. A big part of getting good search engine result traffic is making sure that you stand out on that page so that visitors are drawn to click on your result.

Click on the attachment on the first post in this thread. It shows a picture of the search result with a stylized piece of text. Just for your information the original search query was: code to detect whether an image needs SDL_RLEACCEL - Google Search I have no idea why the Scribd text shows up stylized like that.

Further developments: Check out the cache of the search result: Programming Linux Games All the "f" letters have a stylized shape in the plain text version. Apparently this comes through in the search result. Further edit: "Hoff Cover" There is an example. In the above text the double "f" is one symbol, not two symbols. The font used in Firefox on my MacBook causes the double ff glyph to appear extra large as in the screenshot attached to the first post. Another edit: I just tested it in Safari. The double ff appeared correctly. Apparently Firefox has a bug that causes the double ff glyph to appear in a extra large font that extends below the line. I don't know if this is a Firefox bug only on Mac OS X. If you have a windows machine and run Firefox please test the link above and see if the double "f"'s display properly or if they appear as script as in the attached screenshot at the start of the thread.
