Beautiful heading! Somehow Alaska reminds me of my own country (Norway) from time to time. There's still a lot of work that, in my opinion, can be done to the layout of the website... but all in all, seems like a nice place to get some ideas of the Alaskian (?) way of life.

(gotta love those northern lights (as we call it) )

@ebra:
Thank-you so much for visiting my blog. I have heard from several people who visit Norway regularly, about some of the resemblances to Alaska, which tells me that Norway is beautiful. I am hoping to see for myself in a couple of years.

I have built this blog from scratch... Starting in July of this year, no templates, no plug-ins, every bit of the html coding, and css, rss, etc etc.. I chose to learn and do it myself by reading, researching, experimenting, and asking questions after question, because I all I knew how to do on the Internet before this blog was surf and shop..

It is what I had a vision of... and yes, it still needs some adjusting and a bit of refining, and as I learn I may make other changes, but for the most part it is the way I want it.. I put a new blog post up about once or twice a week, depending on the time I have, working full time on my business takes away blogging time pleasure!

My readers enjoy it, and it was ranked from nothing to 2/10 on google on the September/October ranking, and I have quite a few rss subscriptions already, and it's not doing bad on Alexa and Technorati which to me is just the beginning of something wonderful.

Right now I am also putting extra time to promote it. I have enjoyed every minute working on this blog. It has been a lot of work and will continue to be so, but it has been so much fun!

Hi K

Had a look at your site and feel inspired to come and visit Alaska! Your blog somehow gives me a real sense that you love it there! I like the 'informal' look and feel of the blog, as though I'm visiting an old friend somehow.

I agree with Nathan about the photo of you. It looks as though your head has been slightly squashed and elongated (it may just be the photo you chose but it doesn't look quite right). It's not big deal though you might want to change it or fix the aspect ratio.

I also agree with Sadiessay-so about the font. Maybe we mean different things, but the Times Roman font of 'Welcome', 'home' and 'greetings' would look better (in my opinion) with a 'sans-serif' font such as Ariel. Looks 'cleaner for the headings. It's not a problem with the post text .. just the headings.

I'm looking forward to visiting Alaska someday!

Ian

@ianpeatey!
Thank-you for visiting my blog and your kind words! I hope you do get a chance to visit Alaska.
I think I understand about the blog, it is the title headings that are not quite right.. I couldn't figure out what was wrong! After looking at the posts forever every thing seems to look the same after awhile. Thank-you!
I think it is just the picture itself that is bad.. I am working on getting another one soon because I don't really care for that one, but didn't have another for it. Thanks!

I've found that Sans-serif fonts always seem to look better on the web. For some reason the serifs just mess things up and make it harder to read. All the really professional sites that you see use a font like Ariel.
