I think it's cool that you are building a blog that is a guide of top sites and tutorials you've chosen as worthy. If you stick with it and keep track with comments on the sites you chose and why it could end up as a respected resource for people getting into blogging, webmastering etc... People are always looking for clusters of useful information. When the "human effect" comes in such as manually adding sites it's a way that spam sites or useless ones just can't get through. People enjoy going somewhere and finding exactly what they are looking for. I like how you tied it in with the wordpress blog format. I'm seeing more and more blogs bet creative and do things like yourself by expanding on what a blog can be.

Best of luck and if these forums are a great starting place to learn even more bout blogging.

Finally I always recommend you get a customized header with text and images that you think would help let readers know what you're about. A picture or in this case header can say a thousand words.

Thanks Rob on the review, I apperieciate it. I have piles of these resources that I've used for years and continue to add to. I'm glad to share them if they will be helpful to others. The blogging format was just fitting because of my need to chitchat!

I agree I need a lot more going on with the header. I'm just not that great with graphics. I am okay if I am locked in a closet for about 30 days, I can come out with something decent but otherwise I'm pretty terrible. Will have to work on it, maybe hold a contest at sitepoint, get the experts on it.

You can find someone on larger webmaster boards to make you a decent logo for 5-10$ and a decent animated one for ~$15 it will go along way setting your site apart from the pack.

My idea tho, is to get some additional exposure through the contest. Plus the last freelancer I had made me a logo, stopped talking to me after he made it -- for about 3 months. Finally just last week I found him on another board and he delivered it to me. Makes me a little worried.

Not sure really, the blog is aimed at other webmasters. People who develop websites and run them, not nesscarly blogs. I have some post on getting started with HTML if you are looking to head more in that direction and learn the backend of your blog. Otherwise my blog is not aimed at bloggers in general, in the sense that you don't care whats going on in the background as long as it is working !
