I figure my website is for people like me who are tired of their day job so I might as well go straight to the source. I know this is not the most common way to promote a website now a days, but I need the traffic any way I could get it.

directory submission? article submission? social bookmarking? haha, sorry to say those are all foreign to me. I'll look into those. Any additional info you could give me would be great.

Thanks to all who replied and/or took a look at my site.

Cheers,

well, that a good start.. and a very different ways of promoting your site..
directory submission means submitting your site to different directories it is one of the way to get incoming links from related pages. there are lots of different directories available on the web..
Social bookmarking is a way for you to store, organize and share your articles or your posts through internet.. addthis.com has lots of social bookmarking sites..
article submission its like social bookmarking..

I didn't realize I had more replies.....sorry for the late response.

@ knotgypsy: Hey, I know you. You're welcome to my site anytime. Kick ya' feet up and go in the fridge if you like.

@ ghing: After you suggested it the first time I've looked into all three of those methods and have started to implement them in my marketing strategies. Thanks to good 'ol google and bloggeries combined I've learned a lot in the past week. Thanks for the insight in something I never knew about

@ funnnn: First off I love the spelling of the name. Fun with one "N" is blah, but fun with four "N's" is....well...fun. Thanks for taking a glaze at the site.

This is where I found you! Without Bloggeries, I would never have found your site.

As for other ideas for promoting your blog, I have had pretty good success with Squidoo. To see an example of a lens (page), see mine. Apparently, Google really likes Squidoo.
