I like how it looks, and really love the colors
My only suggestion would be reducing the header height a bit, cause normally users don't like to scroll down to find the content, its always better when you have your content appear right in front of your visitors

Edited to just say that your content is absolutely wonderful, it made me run to the fridge searching for anything to eat
