Posts too long?

My blog is about spirituality, religion, science and philosophy. These are obviously deeper, more intellectual topics. Which makes it difficult to post less than four or five paragraphs at a time. Even that's cutting it short for me. So my question is: are my posts too long or too boring? I want to educate my readers but I can't educate what's not there. I'm trying to find the best compromise without sacrificing too much vital material. As it is I already feel like I'm breezing over some very important points that should be elaborated on. I'm hoping in the long run this can be made up for with private conversations or replies to questions in comments.

The only thing that puts me off long posts is when it one long block of text.

I like there to have pargraphs in there. Also maybe you could add some pictures to break up the post. But as long as the content is relevent then does not matter how long the post is.

I've been considering pictures. I just don't want the pictures to become pointless. I see a lot of blogs that add pictures to everything. "So I was walking down the street today [picture of a street] and I saw my friend Sally [picture of Sally waving]." I'll test it out and see if I can find pics that are relevant and useful. Axiom wolf, I just had a look at your blog, i do think its really long. I have to frank with you, i really can't stand long post, with tiny fonts, and black fonts. I mean i dont mind black fonts, but i think ur blog has gotta have some contrast in terms of colours, and you should put more videos and pictures, use different fonts ans sizes at times.. etc.. spice it up a little, you can still keep the content but spice it up in between your paragraphs etc
