Dark and Random Humor - need reviews and advice

Three of my friends and myself just recently created this blog to get our ideas out of our heads and out into the public. Some of it may offend people, but that's what humor does. I appreciate the feedback. How do I make the advertisement box on the right smaller? Is that something that I have to pay for or can I alter it?

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to advertise without spending money? I'd like to get some more visitors to the site, but I'm not really sure what the best way to do that is. Any help would be appreciated.
