You can buy a domain with a debit card it if is Visa or Mastercard. You do not need a credit card. You will be much better off with a self hosted site.

The biggest reason it would be much better is that if you had a self hosted WordPress blog then you would own the content you create. As long as you are making use of the other massive blogging sites you are giving away your hard work to a corporation.

Haha well i don't anticipate a lot of traffic to be honest, and I can't buy a domain. They hardly "own my content" id understand that to be an issue if I had like 500+ visitors a day however
