Unhappy Originality Lost - The Fun of Boredom VS The Fun of Boredom

Ever had an idea you thought was so original that you thought it was yours and yours alone? Well turns out my "original" blog name isn't too original after all. Some kids posted a Youtube video of the same name a couple years back. So I need to know what you guys think, is my blog better or the video better?

Eh... there's no such thing as a totally new idea. It might be different if sixteen bazillion people were doing the same thing, but if you and your readers are enjoying your blog, it doesn't matter that someone used the same title for a video.

That is true. But their video has the exact same title as my blog. I'm worried if we will have conflicts later on...

Hmm... how does this apply to copyrights and intellectual property? No such thing as a new idea, right? So no such thing as copyright infringement? LOL, I think too much

But theirs is just a one time video right? I don't think it's a big deal.

As I understand it (and I Am Not A Lawyer), copyright is not an issue as long as you didn't copy it from them and they didn't copy it from you - two people can quite legitimately come up with the same title.

Trademark could be an issue, but I doubt that they'd be trademarking their video. If you're going to use this site for a long time, you could consider trademark, though I suspect it would be too expensive and troublesome.

They posted the video years ago. Chances are they forgot all about it by now. Also unless they have a copyright on it then I doubt they will care that much.

Hmm... two kids wouldn't possibly think of trademarking their video, right?

Hmm... trademarking would be too expensive, eh? Sighs, wish Melody was here right now....

p/s: I just noticed I am now Blogger Supreme, way cool! Haha.
