Post New website on meditation/self-development - would appreciate criticism.

Hi,

The website is about using practices such as meditation and affirmations to improve your life.

If you have 10 minutes to look my site over and give me your critisism (perhaps the 3 weak areas which catch your attention) please visit the link below...

The Real Mind | Achieve your most extravagant dreams and deepest desires

I'm happy to answer any questions about how I developed the site.

Cheers!
Rich

Left you a comment on your site, it's waiting for moderation (which I don't love). I will revisit when I have more time but so far it looks good. I focused on the quitting smoking post.

Well, I have nothing bad to say! I also looked at the quitting smoking entry and printed it out. Your theme is eye catching - I really like a black background from some reason. The articles are easy to read and informative. Good job!

That is a beautiful professional site. And I have to agree the archive is very user friendly. I also like the "similar articles" feature at the bottom of each blog post.

I clicked on the link at the bottom of the page that says "site map" and I got a page of messy code - nothing resembling a site map. I think you've got something to fix there.

Neat and professional. And content matter is attractive too! And areas of improvement:
1. Use lighter background colours. It goes better with your niche.
2. Encourage more commenting and when you get large enough traffic, attach a forums to your site. Your niche will attract a lot of discussion.
3. Add some images! A lot of web users do not like seeing a continuous long essay on the computer screen, putting images in between will dispel this. This is known colloquially on the internet as "wall of text"

Interesting how many people commented on the way I organised the articles. I actually got a lot of people criticising that to start with, then I made some very subtle adjustments and now everyone seems to like it...

Envoy -

Thanks very much your comments are very useful. I am considering using more images, but I haven't decided exactly on my approach to that yet (whether to do my own or use free license ones)

I'm going to leave the theme for now because I've only recently redesigned it, although I may be changing the text backdrop to white rather than the light-blue it is now.

The recommendation about having a forum is well noted, but this is something for a later day.

Melody -

Thanks,

The sitemap link is for google - which according to the google webmaster tools it's the correct format. I might make that clearer.

Cambellsoup -

I don't like having to moderate comments either, but I'm already attracting tons of spam even though I haven't got close to my target traffic. So if comments are there at all then they will have to be moderated.
