I have been hanging out here all day, I thought I would formally ask people what they think of my blog - its very simple. As well as my gossip/life/crap I was thinking of putting the occasional tech/geek post on there... what do you think??? I am an IT Consultant, so I have some stuff to say. LGG xx |

I would definitely go for black text on white. It is easier to read that way. In addition I think that you need a few pictures to add extra life to your blog.

I agree with Nathan - i had a hard time reading it and my Random blog is white on black too. Maybe it is the size of the font or something?????

It is more readable. I would take the ads down though. If you put up AdSense within the first 30 days it can get you banned. You have to wait about a month before you put up ads.

OK definitely better (I actually read it this time). Your current post is interesting, but the other ones are just journal entries. Is that what you are going for? I would suggest a blog about 'business' or a blog of your life. I am no expert by any means, but I feel you cross the line talking about the way to tweet correctly, then telling us TMI about your personal life (or lack of) .Finding a 'niche' is very important. Your friends might want to know about your personal life, but people interested in blogging and tweeting don't really care. It takes time to figure out what you want to get out of a blog. You can definitely work it out as you go!

I personally feel that my blog is an extension of who i am. and this is me. I am an it geek and consultant, and i am a single(ish) lady who loves life... to be honest, i think most of the people i meet online are interested in reading about real people's lives and tech-opinions.... i do not see why the two have to be exclusive but, i will probably be proved to be wrong lgg |

Hey no problem! When I started blogging Nathan was such a big help and everyone else on the board too. It was just one of those things that was pounded in my head over and over. I took a risk on my random blog and it is doing OK, but my cooking blog (which is much more topic specific) is doing much better. Of course it is a personal choice! I would like to make money with my blogs (eventually) so my thoughts might be more revenue driven. I'll keep checking back though
