Lets put it like this: Blogging gets better the longer you do it. Most bloggers give up within three months. The ones that keep it up are the ones that end up having fun. ![]() I seem to remember that I was a little miffed that I wasn't getting much traffic. But then I joined Bloggeries, joined Entrecard, and started learning about SEO and from there I started developing my blog.

That's good to know. I'm having the same problem- I've been going for a couple months and haven't really gotten great traffic. I'm glad there's someone else in the same boat.

For me, my first month of blogging was fun and interesting. I didn't have any real motives or ideas of what it'd be like and I was just excited to find a new outlet and way of writing and sharing. With later blogs, though, I found it somewhat frustrating because a lot of my traffic on others had just gradually grown, and to try to increase it intentionally was frustrating.

I've been going for about three weeks now, so thanks for putting up this thread - perfect! ![]() I've found the first month to be great, been posting daily and my motivation has been kept up. Tend to think about the blog constantly, reading about blogging/website design, reading RSS feeds looking for interesting news to comment on etc. I think the one thing I will look forward to is having the design elements of the blog settle down a bit - I'm still at the stage where I want to tinker with things and add a few practical elements. Not being a coder, this can sometimes be quite difficult and take far longer then it should! So I think I'm really going to enjoy the point where I feel the website design is set up and good to go (for a while anyway!). Think it will probably take me to the three month mark for that to happen though ![]() In this for the long haul, so hopefully my motivation will remain at these levels! Trying to build a readership organically, seems to be working okay so far. Thinking of ways to promote the site and still getting targeted readers to check it out. Learning all the time, and enjoying myself immensely!

In the first month I was writing for me and just me. When you have that sort of intention growing traffic doesn't matter, so it's not frustrating if it doesn't happen. It does prove to be nice when it happens though. The single most frustrating thing was spam comments before I discovered akistmet.

Starting out can be a little frustrating depending on your mindset and goals, but stick with it! Enjoy yourself and you'll be much more likely to get the results you want.

Well I can't say much since i'm still a beginner, but the first month is the most confusing ever! It can be fun, but very intimidating since you will notice there is little to none traffic. But eventually after you tell all your friends who tell your friends and so on, it gets better.
