What the first month of blogging is like

I've been blogging about politics for about a month and a half now and it's been a pretty neat experience. I've learned a lot of new terms, that's for sure.

I've been trying to get links to my site out there (in a legitimate fashion) and right now I usually get anywhere from 8-20 visits a day. Although earlier this month I posted comments on a few news websites and included my link (like I have been trying to do regularly) and I don't know exactly what happened, but for about 3 days I got between 100 and 300 direct traffic visits each day. That was pretty exciting, but then it all went back to normal.

I am currently in the first month of my blog, and what motivates me is that I tell myself I am just doing it for fun, and if the followers come great!! I have 2 followers now and it is fun to just write for them.

I've been blogging for only about a week. I don't do it to make money or anything like that, and so it's not too big of a deal that I don't have any followers. It is a little discouraging though, but okay nonetheless. My blog is done in sort of a journal style, where I just write about my life in general. Followers would help but I mainly write for myself.

Oh my gosh! I am so glad I saw this thread. It is just the inspiration I need to keep going. Just knowing that others are experiencing the same thing makes me feel better. Good luck to all of us newbies
