I think that you need more posts per page, and more content in general.
On content per page: It appears that you show only one post per page. That might increase your number of ad impressions per visitor, but it makes it a lot of work for the visitor, who's likely to click a couple of times, get tired of clicking, and go away. Most of the blogs that I regularly read show at least five posts per page. Giving people more stuff per click may lead them to come back more.
On content in general: I think that to get much traffic, you need to get people coming back to your blog. And to get people coming back to your blog, you need to try to reward them for coming back almost every time they visit, by having a new post almost every day.
Now, I don't know a thing about Neopets, so I don't know how to do that. Can you talk about your experiences with Neopets? Tell stories? Offer links to media stories about Neopets? Have contests? (Not with prizes, just recognition for people doing... whatever, best.) Invite guest bloggers to introduce their pets? Again, I don't know, I'm just trying to give an idea of the kind of thing that I'm talking about. The idea is things that would give your visitors something interesting to read almost every day, so that they come back regularly, so that when they're making a buying decision or want to research an advertiser's site they _might_ happen to be on your site when the impulse hits, and they might click on an ad.
If there isn't much to talk about, then sadly, this may not be a subject that will produce a lot of traffic - it may just not be a suitable subject for a moneymaking blog.
Now, I know darn well that my blog isn't going to make me any money.

That's not what it's for. But if it's a big goal for you, then I think that you need to offer frequent, fresh, quality content to keep your visitors coming.

Edited to add: I should say that even though I have no expectation of ever making money on my blog, I still would like a few readers, so I still post daily. I think that frequent posts is an unavoidable requirement for building an audience.
