I don't think the neobuttons are affected by this because they are designed by Neopets to be included on off Neopets sites

Good idea - would probably be easiest to just include a widget that has the copyright written on it.

Or you can simply add the copyright statement to the code near the blog's footer. That way you don't have to add another widget to the layout.

Weve got a new background, and a lot of our posts now show up on google!!! The bad news is no one is clicking any ads I've made the ads stand out a bit but still no clicks! Any advice to get more people to click ads?

Just checked and your home page is showing a google public service ad - you won't make much money that way!

Start your post titles with a commercial keyword - game, computer game, online game, etc.

You need to completely redesign the site, at the moment it's a 'two seconds and I'm gone' kind of place...even for neopets.

Check out Nothing But Neopets or Neopets Hive for example - they are your direct competition. Even though both those sites could do with a bit of a better design, you should instantly be able to see the difference and it will give you ideas on where to improve.

Also, be more conservative with your ad blocks - more is not always better. People can really get put off by it (I know I do). Just because you CAN have three ad blocks and three link blocks on the same page doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Seems like an area with quite a bit of competition, but you definitely should be able to break into it with some solid effort. Work on design and content.

p.s. The traffic spike could have easily been caused by you posting your site here (and possibly elsewhere) for other bloggers/webmasters to look at. Once we have had a look at it, with no real interest in neopets it will be difficult to make us come back...
