Thumbs up Learning Guitar Blog.

I actually posted for feedback somewhere else on this site but can't find it lol! Anyway, I'd love your feedback - give me what's good and bad about the site, content, links etc and be honest.

Most importantly I'd like to know techniques you use that you think I might benefit from.

Thanks,

Hey Josh! I think everything looks great, and I can see that the content is pretty good as I have played guitar and bass for over 16 years.

the only thing I noticed is that your photobucket bandwidth has been exceeded so those images will not display. I would just upload the images to your blog directly instead of using a third party provider to avoid this problem.

Good luck with the site.

Your blog looks great and it looks like it has serious potential. I would encourage you to use a different theme though. Simple is good but that theme does not make your blog look very good.

For an example of a similar blog check out Tangier Sound

This is a great and very popular blog with a similar theme.

I would encourage you to incorporate your YouTube videos in your posts, with relevant titles and text in the post so that you show up in Google Search Results.

I look forward to seeing your blog's success. Keep us posted about any changes or developments.

Hey - Nice little site here - very informative on playing guitar - I enjoyed the Arpeggio practice and of course, your Les Paul Set up! Nice.

And love your info on White Snakes' song.

OK - now the thing that I think you could improve.

Your layout.

You have such a basic... blah blah layout. For such GOOD information and GOOD writing.

I'd really like to see you upgrade your simplistic layout to something more interesting - and perhaps add some widgets to it. Nothing traumatic...

I use falconhive dot com for most of my blogger layouts - easy to use and nice. FREE - read (FREE) here. *grin*

I think if you had a better layout - you'd develop a bigger following. Your information is good - you have it all. But like I said the layout is ok --- BUT YOU COULD Be BIGGER. You know?

Luck to you!

Thanks guys!

Since I started this blog numbers were pretty low, i'm now getting about 10 or so hits a day (which for me is awesome! i saw a guy with a t-shirt that said 'more people have read my t-shirt than your blog' with a hit counter on it with 3 counts on it).

I'll check out falconhive for some blogger layouts - i do like the lighter colours of Tangier Sound so i'll look at that too.

I am going to venture into the youtube stuff soon too. I'd like some variety of written word, tab, video, backlinks etc in my posts.

Thanks again guys.

PS: I do love my Les Paul!

LOL - and you should love your Les Paul!

Just FYI - I have quite a collection but no Les Paul.

Do you record?

Im trying to find someone who understands how to record Live 8 tracking band in either CUBASE or ProTracks.

I'm lost --- I can get a recording - but can't figure out sound levels and can't figure out how to edit the mix.

Sigh...

I feel Dumber than dumb... LOL!

Oh yeah? Love to see your collection. Mine consist of just two the LP and an acoustic Maton.

I don't record, but there's a great forum at Guitar for Beginners and Beyond - Over 100 Free Guitar Lessons - 95,000 members with an entier forum on home recording.

It's not what it sounds like either!! There's loads of stuff on there for the intermmediate to advanced player. Some of the regular forum posters record quite a bit and put it up on the site for feedback, it's a great forum. Check it out.
