Hey all,

Rob mentioned introducing my website in the section of the site, so I will.

My site is TheBlogBeat.com.
Its another one of those "Blogs on Blogging" and its realtively new also (just 4 articles so far). I want to focus the blog on promotion and marketing aspect of blogging, but I will cover all aspects of blogging as I see fit. I feel promotion and marketing is relatively uncovered area in the blogging world. For example, I read a blogging book, the chapter on promotion and getting traffic was mostly about measuring site stats. The last page (only 3/4 a page of writing) covered actual marketing stradegies. That doesn't do it for me. Most of the techniques other blogs mention do little to bring traffic to the site. I don't want to say everything said out there is worthless, some ideas are good.

Don't worry I already have numerous articles already ready to come down the pipe. So if you could, please comment on articles on the site ( I would really appreciate it as a new blog ), and rss subscribe that would be great. I subscribed to your feed you've got some interesting articles although their not strictly original.

The thing that annoys me about blogs on blogging sites is all the lists of things are common sense! or at least what I perceive to be common sense!

Love the theme too :P

I'll admit, most of the articles I have up there (ie how to write a post with lists ect) is pretty unoriginal, but I felt I needed to give background if a person was relatively new to blogging. I will progress in article originality no doubt.

I like your blog alot as well. Regarding not so original articles. I see what Han is saying and don't disagree but also remember that not everyone has been blogging / on the web as long so everyone finds stuff for the first time somewhere. SO when you are just starting out it's ok to cover some general topics in your own words. As you gain some readership and momentum try and release stuff as fresh as you can. Obviously there will be some overlap but just try your best. I didn't subscribe like Han but I will be back and make sure once you qualify to take advantage of our free reciprocal blog listing in the directory. We can always use another blog like yours.

In the words of Gilbert Arenas,
"If you think about it, nothing is original. Every joke has been retold at some point. What I did was recycle a new joke instead of waiting for it to get old. It was too funny not to. I mean, at least I picked a good joke, right? It’s not like it was some lame, “Yo momma” joke."

But I will get fresher more original stuff. I felt I need to address the basics before moving forward. In fact, I just added some new stuff. Its two stories to illustrate a point... what can be more original than that.

I really liked that quote and think it sums most of our experiences on the internet. Most things have been told it's a matter of retelling them; the facts don't change but the storyteller does and everyone prefers a different type of tale.

Does anyone else have a comment to give. I've added some more articles since I posted this.
