Where Do You Upload Video Podcasts? Viddler YouTube?

Do you run it from your site or do you upload it to a service? I am going to make a video I believe for a contest I want to run.

I"ve seen Viddler and Youtube just curious how you do it. I"m assuming the files are to big to run off my server (even though it's dedicated).

I heard that youtube upped its video requirements to 1 gig? Not sure if it's correct, but you would be able to upload it there and not have to worry about anything else besides embedding it.

i dont know but youtube is popular so it's the top choice

I think Viddler has some more functionality. Like if I"m mentioning a website you can have snippet come up with a link to it etc... That would take longer to edit though. We'll have to see.

I have not done any video post but if I ever had to do, I would upload it at youtube or any other video site. I cannot handle the bandwidth requirements of video posting seriously at my own hosting.

I've never heard of Viddler, but I know several people who use YouTube. It's two-fold, too, because by having it there, you're getting traffic through a place that sooooo many people use. Plus you're getting the benefits on your own site of having the video there. YouTube now has customizing options where you can have little comments/popups/text show up within the video where ever you place it. So if you want someone to notice that they can find more info about what you just said, they can go to your website....then you can place that url right in the video itself. Lots of people use the feature to add a bit of humor or to add things they might have forgotten while talking.

i use YouTube to upload my vids to, and i installed a plugin, Vipers Video QuickTags because it has tags for a dozen popular vid sites which i occasionally borrow for my blog.

Ok cool and I read they can't be more than 1 gig. I have an HD camera so this will get eaten up fast. Should I be filming on a lower resolution?

Also anyone using "Viddler"?

Turns out I uploaded it to Viddler and Youtube.

Once I edited the file with Windows Movie Maker (Comes w/ XP & Vista) it was 22 megs.

Entire process was EASIER than I had thought.
