I think that it sounds good to use blogging as a marketing technique, but in practice I wonder if its quite so effective.

Blogging may be fun, but the blogs people really read aren't going to be ones that are all ads. Personally I hate ads and hate to see bloggers selling things on their blog. I'd rather read something worthwhile, and I imagine this is true of other people too.

yeah... actually most of the blogs are used for marketing practices. but then I think unless you have a really powerful blog then its not worthy to create a blog for marketing tools...

Interesting. I've found blogs to be very good at marketing, simply because they are syndicated so easily compared to a traditional website. However, most blogs are just filled with ads and widgets with little content - those just don't seem to be working as well. Keep it simple and streamlined in my opinion.

I think that perhaps if you kept the blog interesting and kept other ads out you might be able to use a blog for marketing, but I wouldn't want to run a marketing blog, it wouldn't be a very "fun" blog to write.
