Writing Reviews and Getting Paid

I just happen to have to much free time on my hands. Comes with being retired and single, and a habitual blogger. Just started to blog this last April, and starting to get the knack of it. Thought it might be kind of neat if I could earn a buck or two doing what I like---so am curious to know how one goes about getting into the review writing business and getting paid to do it? Anybody got any thoughts on that?

I'm not sure how one would get paid for reviewing things, but I do know that a good way to find things to review is to watch TV. Shows that have entrepreneurs on them showcasing their new and innovative product on them are good ones to watch. (The Today Show, Donnie Deutsch, talk shows, etc.) Then after the show you can send an email telling them you want to review their product on your blog. This will generate traffic for both you and the entrepreneurs.

I have alrready found a site that lists sellers wanting their topics reviewed and are willing to pay, ---one has to submit ones blog and if determined to be of a certain page ranking is eligible to bid on the reviews being asked for. I just need to talk with someone that has DONE such reviews to get a feel for how one goes about it.

I know this isn't going to be the exact answer you're looking for... but what about asking your local newspaper about blogging about stuff around town? You have such a great writing style, you'd be great at something like that, imo. I dunno, it's just a thought...

I have 2 review blogs and could always use help in writing reviews on their relevant topics. I do not have too much of a budget on hiring a writer but I would also be happy to trade for back links and other SEO initiatives.

BargainHunter: I will have to check out the buzzforstuff.com site, thanks for the tip---you should put your blog url under your signature when commenting, so others can read yoru blog and add to your comment section. once ya get 10 posts here in the bloggeries you can modify your signature block to put it in automatically for ya like my signature below. Hey Travel Dude, I am writing a rather eclectic blog and don't really belong in any one particular niche, but hey thanks for the advice anyway. (lol)
