I blog about travelling, the work I do etc... I often come across things worth writing about, and up to now, use my Nokia mobile phone to take a snapshot for a post. While the resolution is fine, the overall quality, sharpness, colour balance etc.. is real poor. I do have a digital camera, but can not always carry it with me. But I always have my phone with me... So.. does anyone of the "mobile bloggers" amongst you have a tip for a mobile phone with an integrated good quality digital camera - a quality good enough for blog pictures? Peter

Good question. I have a flip and have *THOUGHT* of moving to a smart phone. Thing is if I go smart phone I'm screwed. I spend all my free time online as is so the sparing times I'm NOT at a PC or sleeping do I really need to be connected. *Don't answer that*. (End of Rant). That being said any suggestions b/c I have beeen looking as well.

But to clarify my question: I am not looking for a phone to post messages online... I just want to snap blog-quality pictures with the phone, offload to my computer and use it in a post.Like this morning, I was at the airport, and one of the departure displays had a Windows crash displayed on it... Wanted to snap a picture of it, and post something about "Ah.. Microsoft Windows...!", but did not have a camera with me.

The last phone I had was a Samsung. It had a 1.3mp camera in it that was amazing. I don't know if all Samsungs are that good, but you might want to look into it. The Nokia I have now is terrible in comparison. I never use the camera on my Nokia because it's so bad.

I agree with steamsesh. The iphone has the best camera I have ever seen for a mobile phone... If you don't mind spending a massive amount of monthly fees. Also, for reading blogs, if the blogger has a wordpress plugin, it allows the iphone to read the blog in a special format that is very useful. It is hard to explain but it is really cool. I couldn't see using a mobile phone for a picture to go with the post unless it is about nature or something. Thats just my opinion.

If you don't like the iPhone there is always a Blackberry. The Bold just came out and I hear it has a nice camera. I personally use a Curve and have been happy with the camera on it.

megapixels are so misleading. it's all about the lens. my 5 year old Nikon 995 3.1 megapixel camera is way superior to my Sony 7.2 megapixel DSC-W70.bulky,awkward, heavy, but easy twice the quality of pics. phones are always on hand, but never seen one worthy for posting pics with. |
