Ok, I hate being a noob as much as you experienced people hate answering noob questions. But I started up my blog about three weeks ago, it is mainly tutorials in the software development field and plan to add some 3d tutorials as well. However my tutorials can take sometimes as much as a month to develop. Taking screenshots, code snippets ect. So my blog goes postless for that time. My question is this hurting me, and if so. How do I correct it, I mean I don't really want to post on useless stuff. Thanks in advance. |

I would say it is hurting your site without posts for that long. Maybe you can post udpates about what is going on before your big post. That might help a little bit.

Abhbah05 I was thinking the same thing about hurting me going that long, that basically answers my question. I am new at blogging and have seen some blogs that where idle for months at a time, but never post their traffic count so I never knew if it hurt them or not. Posting the updates on progress could work, its just that when I am in the development process I usually am stretched on time that is all. What I mean is, if I am taking the time to post to my blog then I could be developing and get it done faster. Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it.

No problem I am very new to blogging as well. It;s hard, but when you see the people it worked for they all say the same thing. Just stay with it.

I had gotten seperated from my blogging, only posting once or twice a month, and it definitely hurts traffic. For one thing, without updates, your fanbase won't be viewing your blog, plus you're not able to ping search engines and things that might draw in viewers. |
