As for me, I post about once a day, every day. As for what everyone else has said, it basically comes down to what kind of blog yours is and what your readers want. I checked out your blog and was kind of confused on what exactly it's about. You said personal but it was just confusing to me. Also, your posts seem to be one large paragraph. Most readers will skim through the posts to find something that interests them. Breaking up those paragraphs with lists or bulleted items could help the jumbleness (word?) of the way your posts look. |

I post anywhere from one to four times per day. My blog is more of a current event / news blog though, so the moment I find out about something I like to write about it. I've found that it doesn't matter so much when it was posted, it generally involves the content. Not exactly related, but I've also found that content that I didn't really expect to get hits tend to get the most hits. For example, I posted just a short little story about John Elway getting engaged and it is now the most read post on my blog. So in my opinion, it doesn't matter how many times you post a day, it's more about the content. |

What I have seen is that "my regular audience of frequent visitors" do not increase the frequency of their visit. They continue to check the blog once per day or once per two days. If anything, there might be a slight annoyance in "trying to keep up". However, publishing more articles (in good quality), does help to get the traffic of 'occasional visitors' up, be it through social bookmarking, or through search engines. Not that it is a goal by itself, but from all occasional visitors, often a couple 'stick to the site', and bookmark their 'new discovery'. All in all, the most important is quality content, and posting regularly. That "keeps" your treasure, your regular visitors enthused. Peter

xpirate: I agree its surprising what gets comments and what doesn't but then that the whole theory about using keywords to attract the seo's to one's postings. As to frequency of posts, there seems to be two schools of thought. One those that don't have much time to read who recommend one should post no more than once a day, preferably only two or three times a week, and then there are those that say post as often as your comfortable doing so. I myself post at least once a day and frequently more often. I am just now starting to get into using key words .

I posted three times yesterday---would be nice if people read them all, but I post because I feel like posting, not out of any sense of "having to". I do get complaints however if I don't post frequently enough.

I no longer post once in every two days. Due to my workload and also wanting to prevent posting 'crappy fillers', I have decided to post when I need to. It will ensure the quality content of my blog. I'm not chasing traffic but I do have regular readers. Fortunately they seem to understand my situation. It's better to do it this way. At least for my case. |

I write mostly about scientific stuff, and I post twice a week. If I'm feeling uninspired it can take me up to four days to actually write an article, so I try to have a few abstracts bookmarked for the days when I just don't feel like doing much.
