I'm doing Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday (unlike most people) and debating right now about whether or not to repeat Week #1 before moving on tomorrow. That last set of Day 3 was brutal...

Week one is very hard. I've felt a lot better since. Only I'm sad that I wasn't able to do the final 25 on level 5 today for week 3 day 1 Trying to decide if Wed. will be column 2 instead of 3, since I didn't make the min for today's level 5.

I got very little sleep last few days so yesterday I called it a day at 5:09PM

bloggeries says it's 5:09PM; I'm going to bed. Goodnight. (g_sleeping) - Plurk.com

Today I feel good and I'm ready for Week 2 Day 3.

I think Day 3 of EACH week is going to be all out H3LL. It's just crazy. I must say though that I've noticed a change in body structure for the better and I have been eating may 65% good.

It's time to reassess my goals and get back to eating clean. Either way looking forward to Day 2 Week 2 in a few hours. Will report after.

25 last one? you're an animal!

Update:

Didn't check before I went home but did Week 2 Day 2; 16, 12, 10,10 , 16 Final.

Think that's sufficient. IT IS getting easier but Day 3 Week Whatever = Hard.

I can't believe I completely forgot to do my Week 2 Day 1 pushups yesterday! Seriously, it would be easier to remember if I got onto Monday/Wed/Friday like the rest of you... Anyway, I did them this morning as soon as I remembered, but man! That was hard!

I think that maybe instead of pushing on to Week 2, I should have taken the option to repeat Week 1 because "struggling" about describes it today, after an extra day off. What do you guys think? I very much doubt whether I'm going to be able to do the Day 3 routine - as Rob says, 'Day 3 Week Whatever' is brutal compared to the other two days in the week, and I might be able to manage Day 2 but Day 3... I just don't know.

So what do you think, guys - would it be "wimping out" to go back and start over at Wk1 Day1, or the smart thing to do?

I think there is nothing wrong with doing a week over, or dropping to an easier column. It is interesting that the extra day rest made it harder. I was hoping it would be easier.

My wife was asking me today, during Body Pump, what I was going to do to maintain the strength gained after I finish the 6 weeks or reach the 100 pushup goal. Any Ideas? I haven't thought much about it. I'm just trying to get through each workout.

I think that's what I've got to do, go back to the first week. It should be easier the second time around, at least... right?!

The other thing is, I guess it's a bit misleading of me to say I had an extra day of 'rest' since I spent a couple of hours working in the bee yard -- hard physical labour -- it was just my pushups that I neglected to do on the right day! Maybe if I had been lolling about on the couch, it would have been easier with the extra rest... dunno... don't think I'll risk testing that theory!

Oh, that's a really good question!

Thinking waaaay back to the days when I was actually *coff* fit *coff* -- it seems to me that a steady 3-day-a-week routine of 80% to 90% effort should do a decent job of keeping up the strength level.

Does that make sense to you?

Default Survived Week 3 Day 3

Did column 2 again today. It went real well. I was kind of afraid that I wouldn't make it to 22 for the last set/level, as I was struggling at set/level 3 to get to 19. However, I actually made it to 24 for #5. So I did 25, 19, 19, 17, 24 for the five levels.

After 5 min rest I started my 60 min Body Pump #45 workout. I went ahead and did everything with my normal weights, including bench fly and presses.

Check out Body Pump at BODYPUMP Group Fitness Program - Les Mills Global I've been doing it 1 to 3 times a week since 2004. However, this pushup program is pushing me to new levels of strength.

I'm still wondering how to maintain these gains after the 6 or more weeks it may take to get to 100 consecutive pushups.

Default Re: One Hundred Pushups Challenge

Doing week 2 day 3 now. Done 1st 2 sets. It gets EASIER! That being said I did go out until 2AM last night and was up early. I think the key is eating right in between. If you don't give muscles the protein they need they won't grow regardless of how you "strain" them.

How to keep it up after? How about doing week 6 permanently? 3 times a week but each week increase each # by 1. Just keep going until....

Or do 100 pushups twice a week?

Either way glad I'm doing this. Oh it's that time again. Set 3!
