You've picked a really competitive niche, but there's always room for more gadgets... I think it would be good to introduce just a bit of another colour to your blog design, but nothing too bright - that green is fairly aggressive on the eyes. In fact, you might want to look around for a more sophisticated theme - that one is pretty old, and used to be everywhere. It would help a lot to get a more modern look.... Too bad you've started this on Blogspot - it would be much better for a tech-related niche if you were self-hosting your site, preferably on WordPress where you could use a cool magazine style theme... But if you're sticking with Blogger, you really should get yourself a slicker theme. It's a matter of the audience that you're going after. Think about who buys gadgets most - and the kind of look and style that would appeal most to that audience. It's hard to say much about the content with only three posts up, but I do think you need to have lots of photos of the goods - at least one per post- because right now, the only photos are down below the fold. Good luck with this!

Hi Xersmith, I like the shade of green used in your blog's theme; cool-ly refreshing in the summer. You might want to have much more content of some type in the right column. It's pretty short right now. Yes, continue using pictures. I receive about 25% of our site's visitors because they use Google Image search. Remember to give the file name for your pictures something that will be searchable (I didn't initially as I didn't appreciate this could drive traffic to our site). As well, articles take some time to write, I realize that, but you might want to have at least 4 to 5 paragraphs in every post to give the reader some 'meat on the bone'. Good luck and I hope this helps, Dan

If you're going to do a product-centric blog, you need to write content that people will want to read. Why would I go back to your blog or subscribe to your feed when there are 1000 blogs who are doing the same thing as you, only better? Find a unique approach or niche, or make it a personal blog, otherwise you'll get buried. That's the bigger picture. As for low-hanging fruit, you need to change the background color (which is currently a considerable deterrent), get rid of all the ads (which will be worthless for a long time yet) and replace archives (useless) with categories (useful). Good luck, and happy blogging. |
