What do you do when you get negative comments?

If it pertains to my personal blog, I sometimes lash out like I did today.

If it's on my other blog (BwC), then I may address it in a post depending on the reason for the comment and what they said. I'm way more professional on my BwC blog but will let 'em rip on my personal one!

When I wrote, "Where's a Woman's Place and Keeping Your Man Happy", I got tons of unhappy commentors. I found them all interesting and responded in the comment section to most of them.

My traffic increases when I post someone's negative comment or email. People love Jerry Springer for a reason!

If I get a critical, negative comment I usually let it go. I try the kill them with kindness first. Sometimes that doesn't work

I haven't gotten any negative comments yet, but I'm a pretty easy going person. Besides, there's always the moderation panel, and I can remove any comment I want!

The eediot pulled all his comments, some people were lashing out at what a a back end of a donkey he was.. funny enough, I screen shot it, and have the comment waiting for the right time to blog it!!

Depends.

We have few categories for these negative comments:

1. Good ideas in a negative but a constructive criticism. They see errors and tell me about them, they offer hints for some good plugins, or things to add. Love them and take them into account

2. Good ideas (for them) with things I know I can use/do but chose to NOT. Because I don't like a feature or consider something to not be accordingly to my way of seeing the blog. I thank and just mind my stuff

3. Moronic comments, attacks, swearing. I delete and ban them. That's not what I expect from my readers, I don't care for people who don't have the minimal education. Fortunatelly they are very few

I guess it is similar to selling on ebay for every 499 satisfied customers who give you positive feedback you would always get the odd 1 who no matter what would give you negative feedback that was totally uncalled for the world does have strange people like that in it unfortunately much better not to let them get you down.

Provided they aren't lewd and crude I'll always post them it offers the readers balance and also the commenter might have a point which I can learn from

Hey, it's a good publicity stunt. Talk trash about a fellow blogger and get your name out there because of the beef.
