I think the idea is good though as most bloggers know getting to top of Digg is well...

i read the response of the owner of the blogging zoom.. and upon reading his posts he uses different words that should not be used.. like the word b*tch..

i think that's bad.. IMO, if a person would like to run a site like that he/she must take those criticism and maybe that criticism can make you correct your mistakes but he didn't do that..

and I am also wondering why does he just post the url on that article instead of adding it as a link for the readers to just click on it and no need to highlight copy and paste..

They are tuff on rules and I personally think bloggers have other dealings to deal with rather than sit at a social networking site reading hours of rules only to get banned a day later!

I haven't used it but they sure have a nice set up huh?

I'm envious of their blog that's attached to their site

yeah I'm working on it but surprisingly enough it's hard to find good people that do good quality work! And it's not easy to develop and build new relationships with people half way across the world!

Yes thats what it came down to for me, Ive got tons of other things to work on rather than trying to summarize an entire post

ffnstuff Was banned because he was just writing link bait post and for insulting a member. Now we would had not gone to the extreme of a ban if not for his comments on other sites basically stating that this was his intention to get banned so we help him in his quest.

"Slow Page Load" We are loading at 12.1 seconds Digg was loading today at 14.8 seconds. Now the reason our loading is so slow is a combination of two things. One we made the mistake of making a heavy graphic design. For our next redesign we will be going more minimalistic looking more at performance then looks. Second reason is quite simple. Our core code is Pligg. We have beign developing since day one and we are quite away from a core install like the two new copy cat sites that have shown up. We are using the same model Sphinn took which was to develop our own Kernel unfortunately we are quite away from development to be as quick as Sphinn but we are making great improvement in minimizing our SQL queries and in such speed will keep getting better.

Bloggeries I find it very amusing you mention cheap hosting. We have a dedicated server if we used "Cheap Hosting" because of our huge page views per day we would be canceled in one day.

Example this site. This site is hosted on a Host Gator $7.95 Baby Plan. If we used a "Cheap Plan" like this on a shared host we would be canceled in less then one hour since we usually have over 20 connections a minute and over 20k page views a day.

In order to be on a "Cheap Plan" like this site is hosted you have to have low traffic.

ghing If put in the same position again I would not handle the situation like that. There is no excuse for it. But I would like to let you know that we had spend over 5 days trying to rebuild the whole server after it was hacked working 20 hour days. Again this is not an excuse and I regret the whole incident.

Bloggeries He's not the only one!

We have over 2500 members and all I see here are two that are saying what they are saying, so I believe it does not represent the whole community.

Well rhyswynne is the classic self centered blogger that goes into a social community and whines and cries like a baby but yet let me explain with his own user so you see why the community did not welcome him with open arms.

Mr. rhyswynne made one submission which he received 10 Zooms and had a total of 87 unique click through since day one and I have the stats to prove it. Now the question is why he did not receive anymore traffic simple look at his user and you tell me. He made the classic self centered approach he made his submission and then went on his way he did not even have the common courtesy of answering comments from other users and he did not vote for one other submission so how can you expect for a social community to support a leach.

Maybe Mr. rhyswynne instead of whining like a little baby should read a few post on how social sites work.

bbrian017 The reason we have the rules is the reason BZ is growing the way it is growing. We do not have to do like you do voting on your own submissions to be able to get them to the front page. I read at the pligg forums how you complain on making and I will quote

" What omg what am I doing wrong? I only made 11 cents today and had over 1100 hits!Is it where my ads are placed, am I not doing something right. how come I always here these great stories of adsence revenues and I see nothing myself?"

Monetizing your Pligg Install - Pligg Forum

Son we are not an install a Pligg site and throw 20 adsense ads. Blogging Zoom is a real venture with thousands upon thousands already invested. We have a business plan and a work plan of what we want BZ to be. We did not wake up one morning and decided to download Pligg and now we have a site.

Blogging Zoom is still growing and we have had growing pains every site does but we are trying to learn from those mistakes and make the service the best out there. Our dev team is finishing the upgrades and new features which we hope to have launched in the next week or so, once we unveil all this new features we are sure that bloggers will have a much easier and enjoyable way of using Blogging Zoom.

PS: On a side note ffnstuff I know you felt singled out. I would like to apologize if you felt this way I assure you this was nothing personal against you or your blog. We where having way to many problems with the copy paste issue.
