Next Pagerank?

When do you think the next pagerank update will be? My blog doens't have one yet, which means I can't do most of the paid blogging oppertunities, and I'm anxious to see how my link building has gone.

It's gonna take some i guess, since not much time has passed wince the last one much. But is Pagerank really important?? I mean, is it the first and most important factor to consider when judging a website???

Page rank measures how easy it is to find your website. A good quality helps but without a good pagerank. Your site will never be found.

but if pagerank is made the benchmark for judging sites(for eg for joining ad networks), then really good(content wise) sites with a low or no PR will have to wait and wait for a PR upgrade of their site!

I'd guess at least a month or so and as far as I know it does play a part in the search results but by no means is the only one in the equation.

Most of the paid blogging sites, including the one advertising up the top of the forum have requirements for the blog such as being PR3 or higher.

I think that the pagerank assumes that if a blog has good content, it will get lots of links.

According to my research, the pagerank update will be very soon. around 6th January. Or sometimes, late January.

I tried some PR predictors. One said Nearly-Dr Ferox would be at PR 4 (actually 3.6), another said 0. So I don't know really.

I'm so excited for the PR update. Yes, it is important base from experience. Higher Pagerank, higher chance of getting high rank in search engines especially google.
