Do you think blogging is a very lonely job?

I think blogging can be isolating, but it can also be very engaging and interactive. You just need to make more of an effort to engage if you are feeling isolated.

for some people who do not enjoy blogging, perhaps it is a lonely job. But for those passionate bloggers, it is a very exciting task

no, food bloggers will have great time going in to restaurants. Photo bloggers will go to different places..

yes!!! The forums help with interaction, but I do miss old fashioned conversation!!!

Well, interactive can still be lonely physically. Don't you think so?

It certainly is when you first start out.

I remember starting up my blog and checking the stats, seeing 3 or 4 visits per day and you start to wonder to yourself why bother? If nobody is reading this why am I putting so much effort into it!

But if you stick with it and really work at getting your blog out there, more and more people will come to visit and hopefully leave comments and from there great discussion can begin!

So how lonely depends on number of visitors? So you feel less lonely if number of visitors increase?

I think it can be if you're a person who needs constant physical interaction. If you're a person who doesn't need to be "in person," then I think it's just the opposite. There are billions of people online and you can interact with many of them without boundaries. It can be insanely social and interactive.

As blogging can bring you to reading what other people wrote and comment, discuss various topics with your readers, write in forums (like this one :P) etc, etc. it cannot be a lonely job. Of course if interaction on the Internet doesn't help someone with loneliness and they are so sunk into blogging that there is no other communication for them in the "real" world, well then it can be viewed as a lonely job too. For me it is way to get in touch with people though, so no loneliness there (:

I dont think its lonely at all it just depends on the topics you blog about I guess.
