Question SEO Question Regarding Blogs

I have written an extensive book on a specific subject regarding finance. Recently, I was approached by a small publisher to publish it...but I am thinking of taking an alternative route. I own the domain name regarding the topic I write about, and I have installed Wordpress. As such, I was thinking of uploading the entire book via a number of 600 to 1,000 word blog posts with the intent to monetize the site via Adsense, Clickbank, etc.

My question is...from an SEO standpoint...is it best to continually upload new content on a daily basis (I have enough content to upload 500 to 600 word posts up to 5 times per day) or is it better to upload the thing all in one shot?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

First of all, you may actually make more money by having your book edited by the small publisher... My personal idea. Although it depends on the potential clientele of the book.

One post per day is great for Search Engines. That shows activity, instead of all at once and then a total dead beat. Actually, once you started you should never stop. 8-) [until you made enough money and can retire, of course.]

In regard to SEO itself, the posts must include your keywords. Each post has to do so. So you may have to revise your content before actually posting it publicly.

One last point: you say "I installed Wordpress". Is your server secure? How do you know that it is? My question is just because as you may have heard, many people lost their website and content to stupid hackers. So you'll have to maintain the install, as long as you want to keep your website. Using an company that offers a blog at least removes that one part from your worries. (and there is mine with Snap!, but that's not a Wordpress blog, it's Drupal... but wordpress.org or blogspot.com would be safer. Even tumblr.com assuming they don't go bust.)

If you want more info about SEO, I started my own e-book last week... 8-)

It's just 2 pages right now, but I'll try to add at least one page a day (Weekdays). You can subscribe with the RSS feed next to the AddThis button.

Ah! One more thing I wanted to mention. You may want to review your posts (instead of just Copy + Paste) to make sure that the places where you cut make sense to the reader. I guess you thought of that already, but just wanted to make sure it was understood...

While being reasonably ignorant of such things, with all the ipad, kindle ? and other e book type readers i'd publish my work all in one in ebook form. Have it for sale, via (and promoted by) your own website/blog, teasing out parts to entice the purchase of the whole thing. just a thought - cheers alan

There is also clickbank... he! he!

Now you could self publish on Amazon.com

But with a blog you could also build a large following (Assuming it all works) and then make money out of that.

Personally I'd get the book published. A little less risky, right? Although the ebook form is all interesting. Would it be possible to agree some sort of deal with the publisher that if X number of books are not sold in X time then you have the write to just go ahead publishing it on your blog in 500 or so posts?

Yeah... the problem when you publish with a publisher is that they reserve a lot of rights by contract. It's often quite difficult to go around those. Yet, that's my first suggestion, get published! It gives you a lot of weight too because you can say: I got published, see book with ISBN-blah. That way you can see in the library of congress and Amazon that the author is for real.

Is this a conventional publisher - that is, one that will pay _you_ at all stages and you never pay them a single penny, rather than a self-publish or vanity publish situation where either you pay them for printing, or they expect you to do all of your own marketing? I'd check the publisher in all the usual places - Preditors & Editors is one place that talks about predatory publishers.

But if it turns out that it is a respectable conventional publisher, I think that you're better off going with the publisher.
