Hello All, Thank you very much for your wonderfully insightful comments. Let me further explain my situation so that I can continue to receive the great feedback that I am getting. Foremost, this is not the first book that I have written. In fact, it is the sixth. I am certainly not here to boast about my accomplishments as a writer, but I have written five books regarding a specific area of finance...and each of my five previous books have been published (all by one very large brand name publisher). For this specific book - a smaller publisher approached me about publishing it...I'd receive more money...but I sort of want to build a following this time around rather than just selling my work. In addition to having my financial books published, I also hold a degree in computer science. I am very well versed with developing a website (and its back end operations). For this specific topic, I can continually add new content on a daily basis. I have developed a WordPress based website that I intend to use to monetize the new content that I have developed. Side note...its a top level domain name specific to the topic that I write about...it is not a sub domain of WordPress. Ultimately, I have two questions. First, the content of my latest work is about 200,000 words. As I mentioned in my first post, that is enough content to post several times per day (via 500 to 700 word posts). Of course, I fully understand that I would need to modify some of the text to act in a "web post" capacity versus a book capacity...that is not a problem. So my first question is...do I put it up all at once...or do I do three to four daily postings with selected sections of my work? Two...money. I am very familiar with ClickBank, Adsense, and every other affiliate marketing and PPC network that is available to monetize a website. Many of the CB and CommissionJunction affiliates would be willing to pay recurring streams of revenue for the content that I upload (and SEO). Does anyone have any good ideas for monetization beyond the standard methods mentioned above? Again, I appreciate all of the great comments regarding my questions. Sincerely, Matt |

Matt, Personally, I would not put it all in the blog at once. It would not be a blog then... In regard to making money online, I strongly suggest that you actually offer a free e-book when people sign up with their name. For instance, I have this website: Turn Watcher? | Turn Watcher | Best Initiative Tracker that asks you for your first name and email address after a few seconds on the site. We get a few thousands hits every month because of this page: D&D Character Generator | Turn Watcher | Best Initiative Tracker and thus we get new people signing up for our e-newsletter nearly every day. (for the niche market that this represents, it's a good number!) This can help you market something, like one of your old book using an Amazon affiliate link. (if acceptable by Amazon for the author to do so, I do not know...) And any other financial deal you can offer your followers. (Life Insurance anyone?!)
