What does it mean to PING your blog?

ping-o-matic covers everything.

Pingomatic is a good ping service, and it is free. Some other good free ping services are Pingoat and Autopinger. I also ping Feedburner when I update my blogs, since I have listed my blogs there.

I would like to find a site that pings all these sites together, (plus more) or learn how to make my own "auto-pinging" site. But for now, these seem to work for me.

I think they help me get noticed.

Kasey: I went to thebloghelper.com and could not find the Pinging Sites List. I wondered which link you had it under until I realized that it was a Search Site and not a blog. Do you just want us to search for "ping" and see what was on the internet? I may be misunderstanding. Anyway, I could not find the link there.

Like others here, I hit up Ping-O-Matic. Not sure if it helps but I do it once or twice a week. I've heard pinging too much is not good but I have never seen evidence that this is so.
