Hi I was just wondering what are some methods you use to get past writers block? I sometimes don't know what to blog about so I'm starting a list of ideas. I was just wondering how everyone else gets past this obstacle. =)

if I got an obstacle I seldom go to twitter search and see what words suggested there.I click what people talks today and from there I commonly found route to write new content for my blog

Some random thoughts: - Repeating themes or series topics. For example, I have Wrong Food and Scenes From Gardens Past. - Reviews. If you normally write about your own cooking and you can't create anything, you could review a cookbook or a cooking show or a cooking product or a restaurant. In the case of your art blog, maybe you could review art-related software, or an art book, or discuss another artist's work, or even talk about a movie that had an art-based plot. Uh... I thought I had more ideas when I started, but that seems to be it for now. |

I'm sure everyone will give you all sorts of suggestions about where to get new ideas, etc, but I'm going to chime in now with this: Sometimes, you just need to take a break. Maybe that's not your problem right now, but at some point, it could be. Sometimes there's blogger burnout or writer's block that can only be cured with giving it some air. In the future, write some posts in advance so when you need a break, you already have some content you can publish anyway without scrambling around, trying to find new inspiration or motivation to blog.

Walk away, grab a coffee, come back, just let my fingers do the walking and see what happens!

Now I remember one of my other ideas: Stories! Biographical and otherwise. Like - going with the art theme - what got you into art? Who were your inspirations? How has your taste developed? What was your worst artwork disaster? Who was your most nightmarish art teacher and why? That kind of thing. These _can_ be soul-baring deep stories, but they can also just be funny anecdotes and opinions. |

i find that the possibilities are really endless, but we try to link everything we talk about together. but then again, a good ol bout of writer's block makes you seem mysterious when you haven't written in a week. lucy |

I've hit the block at the moment, kind of. I've been busy last week driving my boyfriend everywhere to job interviews and this week I've been too ill to sit on the internet. So I've done nothing that is blog worthy and I'm overdue a post now. Thought I'd just post an apology and try and find some photos or something to add for bulk.... |
