I recently read about a woman in China who is suing her former employer because she was fired. Apparently, the company sacked her because she talked back to her boss three times. She was fined for her insubordination but refused to pay the fines so she was fired. She was told that according to company rules no matter whether management is right or wrong, employees are not allowed to contradict them and must obey. They obviously have some pretty tough rules. {...} More... P.S. Wouldn’t she just rather work somewhere else Any better suggestion |

Interesting. It depends what you class as talking back. I suppose we are all trying to keep our jobs secure, and if somebody says something I think is dumb, I would often criticise or make my opinions heard. But it is the far east, and knowing people over there, they have a lot of honour for their superiors. |

Sounds like the company is being run like an army. Doesn't seem productive to me, but it's their company. They can run it whatever way they want.

It's always hard to make a good decision on something when all you have to go on is an article. Maybe there are other factors, maybe the boss is just a tyrant and maybe the employee was a nightmare! Either way the term "job security" starts to sound like an oxymoron to me.
