Here's to another long forum post of mine. Hope you don't mind reading! I may even make it a blog post later... To repeat and extend question from the topic: Where would you realistically like to live? Why? Realistic as in, no saying "infinite vacations on the Maldives". Maldives is permitted on realistic reasons of culture or society, though. Personally, I'd like to live in San Diego, because of the growing art culture with things such as film festivals and street art on Little Italy. The biggest reason would probably be the well known music culture (local, small music cafes where you can sit and listen to live music, and if I may add, do so whilst you blog). To me, San Diego comes off as a city with a very "laid back"/relaxed culture - a huge attraction for someone like me. The weather's great too, sunny all year round. It's also close to the beach, and also close to a major thing for me: Palomar Observatory. I've always wanted to live in a locale where I can enjoy astronomy, which has always been an interest of mine since young. The coffee shop music scene has been fading across the U.S. because of the invention of a little store we know as "Starbucks". However, I'm glad that Starbucks has started to attempt going back to the old cafe atmospheres. (Better explanation at this other news article: here). [If you were wondering, none of these link to any blogs I own, I'm not advertising, I just wanted to point the news out]. Is there anyone who lives in San Diego who can confirm what I've said? Also, some insight into the price of living and work opportunities? I've never been there before, but am planning on applying to Caltech, which is pretty close to it [it's one of the minor reasons I may choose to go to Caltech if I get in]! Remember, this is a question topic, so post where you would like to live, and why! If you could, answering my questions at the bottom would be really great. -J Last edited by JosephOng; July 25th, 2009 at 09:57 PM.. |

If I could move somewhere I would probably like to move to New York City or London. I love big cities, riding subways, being able to access wireless internet anywhere I go, etc. Also the shear scope and variety of inspiration and things going on make these culturally rich areas the perfect place for a blogger and writer like me, because there is always something to talk about.

I love Philly in the Summer and Fall. But I would like to live in Miami. I love the warm weather. I would spend my Winters and Springs there. I just love the vibe of the city.

Hmm, I'm not really sure. I've never lived anywhere more than three years, so it's hard to imagine ever even living permanently somewhere....much less knowing where I'd like that to be.

Canada for the Summer and somewhere tropical with access to golf, fishing and surfing in the winter. Oh and OF COURSE it has to have reliable and FAST internet connections.
