Question about "how much is your blog worth" - Blog Forum

Just curious... in the past few weeks when I entered my url to see how much my blog was worth it went from around $1200 to around $2000 (not much I know, LOL). Anyway, I just went back yesterday and now it says my blog is worth nothing! $0.00! I checked to make sure the spelling was correct, of course.

Not that this is a big deal or anything, just wondering why this might be.

On a related note, I noticed that I had dramatically less hits yesterday than I've had in months. Ok, who's messing with me...

I think August is a slow month (or so i"m hoping). I'm getting alot less uniques this month than previously which I'm quite confused about.

Long and short of it is. Those tools are just for fun and made by someone as a viral marketing method. (It works!) Sometimes it shows results other times it doesn't. Unless you email the author you'll have no idea how it even calculates the worth of a blog. I use this tool and many others purely for entertainment purposes so I definitely wouldn't sweat it. That being said I know what you mean. SeoMoz.org has a page strength tool and when it wasen't reading some factors for my site it kinda annoyed me too

LOL, I understand they are for fun. But I was really curious about it! It's never settling when you see your stats and site tools with a big zero on them...

Tell me about it! the Page Strength tool was being used as an industry standard in the directory sector until the author charged for it and lost all credibility as the tool has some serious flaws.

It wasen't picking up my Alexa, Technorati Tags and a few other bits it used to compute so I was getting a 2/10 when it should of been a 6/10... I know th feeling!

Anyways, the tool to calculate the blog's worth isn't that accurate. It is base solely on the ranking in Technorati. There are still other services that can be use to calculate your blog's worth.

Agreed to both of you lol. Blogging is about the end user and unless your in a webmaster niche the numbers probably mean nothing. As mentioned htough still kinda cool to do sometimes and regardless of # they come to you will always have to find a motivated buyer so sometimes you could get alot more or... a lot less
