I'd love to hear from anyone who's tried this. I still have my old blog file and would love a way to import to my new blog if at all possible (an assuming I ever get my hosting issues completely ironed out). I'm really glad to hear that Google is doing this.

I used it 'avant la lettre', before it became a dedicated service. My main blogplatform is Blogger, using my own domain. I back up my blog by copying it into Wordpress using the blog converter, so if ever anything (touch wood) would happen to Blogger, or to my blog on Blogger, I can have my alternative up in no time by redirecting my domain. It works great, converts blog posts and comments alike, except embedded videos and embedded scripts (for the first, unknown reason, for the second because Wordpress does not support embedded scripts).
