It seems that there aren't many companies who grow 1 site up and then grow another, if successful with one they tend to buy their next few.

I think it is not a good acquisition for technorati. They should have spent money for research on new features for their site. Too bad. Big companies are getting hungry and started eating their competitors.

I took a look and blogcritics has been around since like 2001 or 2002. My question is how did I never hear of it and what exactly do they do? Is it an aggregate of posts or do people post directly onto it?

Ive never gotten into blogcritics, not interested. technorati also fell way off the need for bloggers. Many bloggers dont even register their blog with them anymore.
