Are Blogs Dead or Dying?

No way blogs are going anywhere anytime soon. I think its actually growing at high numbers rather than dieing.

I think it depends. I don't think it is going anywhere for awhile, but it is natural for everything to die off. Like in a forest, once it gets to large a fire will start and burn everything down and then it starts back up. Our economy even does it. Great depression and so on. Rome and everything else. So sooner or later everything goes away, but I think Blogging still has a ways to go.

The problem with "Mirco Blogging" is that it is more commonly personal than it is a niche. People don't actively check their friends micro blogs everyday, I think it has just become more popular because it is very easily accessible and it's included in social networking sites. Blogs will probably never die, there typically better written and hold personal interest much easier

Agreed and you said it with it's more personal then niche. I'm sure some will emerge who strictly micro blog on a specific niche but people will always want to read the long version. Micro blogging is great for getting snippets of information out there; if recipients are interested they click through.

I think blogs, more than most other communication tools, allow a more personal and custom layout as well. There's only so much you can do to your Twitter page.

I do hope that this "micro-blogging" dies though. I literally signed up for twitter TWO days ago and haven't done anything with it. I don't really see the point of it. I don't need to know what everyone is doing every five minutes and they don't need to know the same about me.
