Good start. I can see where you are trying to go with it and that is exactly what I have in mind. Basically, what I am programming is a system that automatically displays ads based on keywords such as "children's toys" or you can choose specific products such as the ones you have listed.
The way it works is it runs as a middle man between you and amazon. You don't have to worry about the complexities of Amazon, making sure that a visitor from UK sees euro prices while a visitor from the US sees dollar prices, etc.
What happens is you sign up up as an Amazon affiliate. You put a widget on the site and my system makes the ads work. You get paid a commission every time somebody makes a sale. In return I get paid by making roughly 1 in seven of the ads credit my own Amazon account. So one in seven sales that get made give me a commission, the rest give you a commission.
The project is about 80% done at this point. I'm coding it for Stephen Todd so that we can use it on our blogs, but we plan to open a general beta release very soon. We'd love to have you as a tester, so yes I was serious.
