How do you make money on your blog?

I used to make all of my money off of PPP, not I have cut back significantly, doing maybe one or 2 a week for HIGHLY relevant topics.

I am now focusing on individual link sales, private sponsored post (see my advertise page for examples)

I am also a affiliate for Amazon, CJ, and Linkshare and have been doing pretty good on all three

I've heard people discuss CJ, Amazon and Linkshare as affiliate brokers. I've never had much success. I'm assuming you found some offers that fit in well with your blog and are kind of like value added to your viewers?

That's what it's all about; having links to purchase products that are compliments to your site and seen from the visitors point of view as value added "Wow thanks for showing me where to buy it" type deal?

Exactly, I write the post first, and then go to the affiliate sites and find something that fits in- like when I wrote an article about becomming a professional organizer on my home biz blog, I added a few books from amazon to the post that were about professional organizers.

sometimes when I cant think of what to write I browse CJ for ideas, like the article I wrote on getting a log to help your brand, I added in any logo design companies there were as well as a short review of each

My favorite is the ones about budgeting, I use the MVelopes Budgeting software- and it reallt truely has changed our lives financially, so when I found the affiliate program for 15.00 for each sign up to the free trial, I nearly cried, I can do reviews on that as well as some step by step tutorials on it coming up soon, from one review I made 2 sales, that is gonna be the money maker I think!

Lots of great ideas here. I've been exploring affiliate marketing recently and this current knowledge is pushing me towards making a more random blog of thoughts and cool sightings on the web. I think these types of things are best done on a post specific campaign instead of throwing them up in the sidebars... Then again I guess it all depends on how good a particular product matches your particular niche!

yeah, I have never made any sales on the sidebar- I still have one little 160x90 button what CJ's code, and it randomly shows a different add each time you refresh the page. We will see how it goes, but like I said the bulk of the clicks and actions come from a post about the site or product

I am trying to boost traffic first before monetizing my blog. for the past 2 weeks, i got about 60 visitors. is that enough to get cash on google adsense?

Well I have just started so Im not earning anything, right now. Its a lot more difficult thatn I thought, people must be blind to adsense but now that I think about I don't click on adsense that often. Anyway I am affiliated with Amazon now, so fingers crossed I do alright with them.

About every other post I intend to stick an amazon product listing in the actual post but Im not sure whether to have an image or a text link.
