Adsense is alright particularly if you are in a high paying niche; often for general terms you only get a few cents ... at best!

Which blogs were you trying to sell advertising on?

I use adsense, but in the past I review a product and get to keep the product. I've used this for software and iPod add-ons.

That's cool Edward and a dream for most. Getting free products so you can make original content about them.

Bloggeries has blog review donations, featured reviews and listings, regular reviews and listings as our major ones. As you can guess I"m looking into signing up to a few other of these programs as many have been having well awesome success with them.

Has anyone tried any affiliate programs?

I know there is a program called "Review Me" where you can charge a price for a review. But the one thing with with getting products, reviewing and keeping them is that the product must be cheap, or software. You have to ask around on company websites b/c not every company is open to it, and sometimes they'll come back and send you more and other times they won't.

Thanks,

I assumed you'd have to initiate the conversation unless you were really large. Also I guess you could start buying the products and keeping them or returning them if more expensive in hopes that one day if you develop a following you'll get more expensive products free. Obviously you have to be passionate about the topic though or you'll never make it big enough to warrant something free.

Thanks for bringing this up as it's always been something that appealed to me. (Reviewing stuff for free )

Rob

Try keeping your ear to the ground in certain places, and ask for "review copies". Usually you start out on things with no monetary value, and could be refused (e-books I'm thinking).

Another tip is to offer your services to your local (free) newspaper. I have reviewed a few video games for the North Wales one, and often get to keep the games. You could also say "I will also post this review on my website, which has this this and this". Newspaper wouldn't mind either copying and pasting.

I've been using adsense for sometimes now. In one of my blogs - it did very well, but at my Money Journey blog Adsense just suck.

Apart from adsense - I try to promote affiliate products.

Thanks for sharing. Adsense can be great or awful depending on the value of the ads being served which basically means depending on your niche.

Regarding your Money Journey site; if you don't mind telling us, which affiliate programs do you find are most successful?

I have used Adsense too. I only got $7.00 last month. I am not earning much from it. I also earned $80 from amazon in the past year.

I think TLA is currently the best. Monthly $12 is the best among all. I'm waiting on azoogle for this blog to see how much I can earn
