Thinking of Using Blog to make Money

When I first started blogging I wasn't really interested in the whole getting paid to blog thing because I don't think I really understood how it works. I still don't understand how it works, but I think I'm more interested in trying it.

As of right now, I'm using wordpress, which isn't really fit for making money because it doesn't allow you to use things like AdSense. Is there some sort of free blogging site that I can use that allows AdSense and other money making opportunities?

Blogger.com allows adsense and is set up perfectly for it since google owns both. Or just buy your own domain and set up wordpress on it. You should be able to run adsense then.

Typepad is also another option. I'm not sure they have a free hosting service though.

In my own humble view, PPC is way overrated. Private banners, affiliate marketing and sponsored posts are much better options. Plus they work on WP too

That is actually a great point. For some large sites PPC or CPM are a great way to go. But if you have a smaller site than private sponsors and affiliate marketing are the only way to make money.

What exactly do you mean "sponsored posts?"

If your thinking of making money with blogging expect to make almost next to nothing at first. It will take a lot of time and understand to get to the point of which you will be able to make money off of blogging.

You will just have to hang in there and keep going with it. My advice that I can give you is to subscribe to other blogs that are about blogging tips and making money online. These are the greatest resources that you will find online, despite what some may say.

find a nice niche...start a new blog....post articles daily...promote your blog.....you'll soon see money coming in...goodluck

I wouldn't really say soon, most blogs will struggle to make any money at the beginning. Selling ad space for very little at the beginning will help to get some money at the beginning, especially if you have some dedicated readers.

The best thing to do is to keep writing great content, not just posting daily, and promote your site. The more people coming to view your site, the more you can charge for advertising, the more clout you will have when you refer a product, and this will ultimately result in the money coming in.

Don’t underestimate the value of link trades! Those can help page rank, and traffic. But, overall it’s the best thing you can do in the beginning.

Get the word out!
