Need conversion help

Well, I talked around a month ago about how I launched www.vistaactivation.info. I took all the SEO/Link building tips to heart, and did what I think is a pretty good job taking care of everything. In an afternoons work, I put together the entire site, including all the SEO I do for it. I rank as front page for a handful of common searches. It pulls in around 10-15 google hits a day, and 1.5-2x that in links I put up other places.


Thats all great, it's managed to get me 600 unique hits over the past month... The only problem is that it hasn't made me any money. From 600 hits, I've made $0.25. Only a quarter. I know I'm doing something wrong, I just don't know what. I spent all my time learning how to get traffic to the site, I never realized how difficult it would be to convert that traffic into money...

Anyone? It doesn't make sense to me. The site gets less than .5% conversion rate. Despite this, almost 50% of my traffic is from direct sources, meaning the people are copying and pasting the plaintext links I placed in a few locations.


I know placement must be off, I probably should break it up into two posts, and put an ad between the two. What else? That can't be the only thing to do.
